  1. Hi,

I am going to completely change the look of my site, I am testing your plugin in localhost and it is perfect !!!
An idea for a slider as widget ???
    THANKSSS !!!

  2. I love your plugin! It would be so great if there would be an image widget.. Like nextgen with 4 images.. Thanks!

    • I’m not sure how you imagine that, but Responsive Lightbox is only lightbox plugin, not thumbnail widget. However it’s possible to display images of the widget by this plugin.

  3. Hello!

I am using the prettyPhoto script, to use a lightbox on a vimeo link, it works fine in Firefox, in Internet Explorer 10, it just shows a black box, I hear the video playing, I do not see it?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    • You can post it in the support forum with a link to your site.

  4. Cool plugin but unfortunately doesn’t work with ACF.

    • Xavi, can you explain it a bit more (or post a support topic) as this plugin has nothing to do with ACF – this is for images, ACF is for custom fields. (By the way we’re using both on multiple sites)

  5. Please ignore previous message. I changed it to ‘Prettyphoto’ in the settings and everything worked perfectly.

  6. Hi

I am using this plugin on my site at

However the images do not scroll and the reader keeps having to go back in order to see the other images. Is there not a arrow to scroll through the images?

  7. Seems like a great plugin!

I don’t want it auto activating across the board, but haven’t figured out how to on individual images and iframes embedded Videos in the html.

Would it simply be by applying a Class Selector “Lightbox”?

I actually would like to embed and iframe in a div with the lightbox functionality.

    Please Advise

    • Yes, you’d need to add rel=”lightbox-n”, where n is a unique number/string (this will open single image separately, )

If you want to use iframe switch from SwipeBox to prettyPhoto, it should handle it better then.

    • Thanks for getting back to me so promptly.

I’m currently nesting the Vimeo iframe embed in a div like this

I really don’t know how to add the rel=”lightbox”. So perhaps you’d be kind enough to provide a html example based on the above.

      • Sorry, I cannot show you the code in comments. Please post a support topic and I’ll reply to it with an example.

    • Ok,

      Sorry but I’m still lost.

      Would it look like this?

Yes, you’d need to add rel=”lightbox-n”, where n
is a unique number/string (this will open single
      image, )

  8. Hello!

I just want to say, that after searching through so, SO many lightbox plugins, this one is almost perfect! Thank you so very much for your hard work.

However, I am using the PrettyPhoto script with the Dark Square theme, and would really like to change the color of the black border/background around the images – how can I do this? (I searched through the CSS, but couldn’t find it).

Also, I would really like for the entire window to darken when images are clicked (as seen with most lightbox scripts) – how can I add this? (This is really important to me – adding a darkened background overlaying on top of the page content makes the focus go to the images rather than the page behind them).

    Thank you for your time!!!

    • Hi Marta,

You definitely can achieve those effects modyfiying CSS, for the lightbox selectors. The prettyPhoto themes are applied using CSS, so it can be manipulated the same way.

      Good luck!

  9. Looks very good, but after installing, it’s not able to show pics in any of my older posts any more (posted before installing the plugin). Which makes it kind of useless.

    • Recent version of Responsive Lightbox add’s a lightbox automatically, so it should work for your older images as well.

      • As far as I can see, it didnt work. When clicking pictures in posts added before I installed the lightbox plugin, simply nothing was shown. If you want, email me and I can temporarily add the plugin back again on my blog to repro the issue.

      • You can register to the site, post this as a new topic and reply to it using set as private reply option (and provide us a temporary admin access to your site so we could take a look at the issue).

  10. At the bottom of the page I have 6 youtube video links that open up in a lightbox. In Firefox though the lightbox opens up blank until I go back a page. It works fine in everything but Firefox and was wondering if you or anyone else had this problem.

  11. hello,i loved your plugin, but pretty photo runs too slow on my website and when i use SWIPEBOX ,it doesnt show caption and image description…how can i add image description and caption to it??please help

    • Have you found a solution to this yet?
      Thanks. Would really appreciate assistance.

      • This is not an issue. It’s just a feature of the plugin to use link titles. However we’ll probably try add an option in the future update to help you out (but we’re not sure yet if that can be done reliably).

  12. Hi guys, love that plugin. But I want to add social share buttons (fb, twitter etc.) how to I add it on it? Thanks.

    • Just switch to prettyPhoto script. If you selected SwipeBox (default) it’s not available.

      • prettyPhoto is not responsive though – is there a solution?

      • Yes. If you don’t find it responsive there are 3 others to choose from (included with the plugin as well).

  13. testing ajax comment

  14. Great plugin! Working flawlessly for my website.
Keep up the good work guys…

  15. As far as I know, not. But you may try switching to prettyPhoto script in modal mode and applying rel=”lightbox” to a link manually in your theme.

    • That did the trick… thanks!

  16. Is there a way to view html – external pages within this lightbox? I tried appending ?iframe=true to the URL, but it doesn’t display correctly. Any help would be much appreciated.

  17. Just trying out these comments :)

    • It refreshes page while posting comment :(

      • Yes, it does and it’s an intended solution :)

  18. your plugin is great and nearly on the way to replace easy fancybox…
will you also implement a “modal-box” and/or “iframe” option? that’s the only thing i am missing…

    • Thanks Chris.

Modal option is available if you select prettyPhoto as your preffered script. We also thought of including Fancybox but unfortunatelly it’s newer (and better) versions are licensed under Creative Commons, so it’s not possible to use it in a free WordPress plugin available in WP repository.

  19. Great WP Plugin!

Question – I am getting duplicate lightbox images in my gallery per each instance. Any idea why this is happening?

    • Are you using a Debug Bar plugin?

      • I am using DeBug and the JS is coming back clean. Here is a link:

Click on any 1 of the 3 images.

I am wondering if the JS is duplicating somewhere, or if it is based on how I am using the ‘a’ tag…

      • I figured it out – I was using a custom css image hover effect and had to rearrange the span tags that are used to hide and display the hover.

  20. hello there! luv the plugin, but do I need to manually add rel to all images? when i use in my blog, i dont see the arrows for previous or next…is there anything i need to manually do to make it scroll through images in a post? thanks!

    • It’s an upcoming feature.

  • 14 plugins, 1 419 574 downloads and more to come. Interested?
