I have 2 sites in WordPress 4.0. One is a completely custom theme and it works as it should with Cookie Notice.
The other is a child theme based on the Twenty Eleven theme. Here the Cookie Notice does not show. No cookies from it are produced either.
I am not logged in, both sites use wp_head() and wp_footer(), tried with IE11, Safari and Firefox.
Thanks for your reply. Regarding Piwik: I have <?php if (! isset($_COOKIE[‘nostatistics’])): ?> surrounding the Piwik code and cookie nostatistics set on my local computer as to not count my own visits. The same is true with the site that is working.
I did, however remove the code anyway and tried: No joy!
I just don’t get get it. There is all the code needed, the js file is included, css is ok, the notice div is in the footer, but it’s not being triggered by js action.
Normally I’d say this is a JS error but I’m seeing nothing in the console log. Can you try deactivation some of your plugins to check if there’s no js conflicts?
Already tried a few. Now I tried to inactivate all plugins except Cookie Notice. No difference. To check the site I run in IE11 Protected Mode and check that no CN cookies are present.
Two other things:
1. Notify me of follow-up replies via email does not work but I got the registration emails from this site so the email address is working.
2. Can I change my password?
We got it. Please change cookie notice settings and set animation to slide or fade.
That’s a bug in CN – if you don’t select animation the cookie doesn’t show up. Uff… thanks for pointing this out.
To change the password go to Edit in your profile menu – you’ll find that at the bottom (we’ve just added this).
Notifications are bbPress driven and should be working ok – I’ll check that.
